2014 Camaro SS 1le Cam question

Hello everyone,

I am looking to cam my car. I ordered the BTR stage 3 N/A cam, but am now second guessing how that cam stands against the:

Night fury, TSP stage 3 cam, and the SS3 cam.

The car is a weekend car with low miles, looking to make power and quicker et’s and going forced induction in a year or so (supercharger).

Thank you in advance.

I installed the Stage 3 BTR cam last summer and I do not regret it one bit.

I can't compare to other cams, but if your planning on supercharging the BTR is a good cam. Was recommended to me by multiple shops too.

good luck

A friend I autocross with has it and likes the power. Makes only 15 more hp then my custom stage one but makes power a few hundred rpm higher. Bad thing is low rpm bog and drive ability in parking lots and such.

As with any cam question... call a cam expert. Kip at Cam Motion or Brian Tooley or GPI or TSP or JRE.... they know their stuff.

Tell the cam grinder exactly what you want, let them custom spec one using the best core material. A shelf cam is just that, compromises to fit a wide variety. Pay a nit more to get a customized recommendation perfected for your needs on a better core.

What kind of supercharger? That will affect the type of cam you get also. A lot of the cams you mentioned are good. I have the tick polluter stage 3 cam, more comparable to the BTR stg 4 cam. Drives smooth as buttaaaa...

TSP is good stuff. Made 519rwhp cam only with their old stage 3.

BTR is good stuff. I'd stick with it. As far as for FI down the road it won't be the optimal cam, but it will still make plenty of power i wouldn't worry about it. When you tear it down again would be the time to get a custom grind cam depending on the rest of the build.

Do the cam and supercharger at the same time ,and pick a specific blower cam and valve train with a proper tune . Do it right the first time and you will have no regrets in the end .
