Thinking about adding more to my car...
Been looking online and started to think about adding High Flow Cats to my 2012 2SS A6 convertible..
So far i have done the Borla cat back ATAK and I love it !! was thinking about headers but i don't want to have to reprogram anything putting in risk my warranty that i paid a ton of money for hah So i i guess what I'm asking is this.. What is the big difference between Lets say Shorty Headers Vs whats on there stock right now ? i am under the assumption that going with Long tube headers would mean i would need to tune the car ? but I started to think... if the shorty headers are more so for sound not much Gain... (Which I don't mind honestly) then would it make any Sense to buy The shorty headers and the High Flow Cats ? or would it be ok to just add the HFC to the stock Mainfold thats on there right now? I mean how much of a difference could it really make right ? I like the sound of the HFC cats on the Borla Cat back ATAK system.. Would i need to get it tuned or clear any codes with just the HFC ? |

Yes, it will get a whole lot louder and add some power, but you will need some form of O2 extenders to not throw a code. I'm running the JBA HFCs and Big Daddie's Garage 90 degree O2 extenders without any code issues.

Will the car need a tune after this? I don't want to void my warranty.
Also would just going with the hfc and leaving the stock manifold be that bad? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I'm just curious if your car is only a 2012 it can't have much warranty if any left on it unless you bought an extended one for it? I would think adding hi flow cats would void a warranty too as it effects the emissions on the car but I'm not sure on that.
A tune on that A6 would really wake that car up that I know from experience.... |

Do you not notice the AFM kicking in more with the new exhaust? I've heard that is one issue on the autos when the exhaust is swapped. |

Yeah I def do..it's annoying lol. But not enough to have me spending over 400 to eliminate it with a range device haha

The stock manifolds flow pretty well. I'd stick with what I had and lean more towards deleating the AFM. Then, later down the line....after warranty...look into long tubes, hiflo cats and a tune. Because, regardless what you say now, you're gonna want to.

You have a 2012 so i think the Solo hi flo bolt right up and dont cause a cel or need tuned. I have a 2011 and never had a cel for the year or more i had them before tuned.
