It all depends on Snyder. If he can stop meddling and let the football people do their jobs, it could work out fine. The thing that bothers me is Shanahan has total control. If that is the case, Bruce Allen is the GM in title only?

Shanahan won 2 super bowls, granted.....but he won them with a guy named Elway....and has only 1 playoff victory since then.

Other wise, I do believe he will make the Skins competitive. And being Skins fan in Az, I cant wait for them to at least be competitive!

Granted, Elway had TD when Denver won the Super Bowls, but the Broncos were always able to plug in a rb and get 1200+ yards out of them. The zone blocking scheme they employed was killer. However, with all the backs they used after TD left, Shanahan was still able to win only one playoff game with a number of different QBs.

True.

I've argued this with my father in law many times. (not the SBls but just Elway) In my opinion, Elway is the best to ever play the game.

As long as Shanahan does not get total control, he will be alright. He had total control after the Super Bowl wins and that was too much.
He did not do a great job there.

He is an excellent coach, but he also lost his edge. he used to be a throw it a lot coach, then turned in to a run it a lot.

And Elway was the driving force. With out Elway, the Broncos would have been an above average team that could not win the SB.
