Launch control is great in competitive mode if you account for the lag time. When you let off the brake - it actually takes a half a second to launch. However, if you want more control - push and hold the tcs button for about 6 seconds, it disables traction control and stabilitrak and you can do whatever you want - burn outs, run it up on the torque converter for launch, etc. This is what I will be doing as I don't like the delay in the launch control.
There is no launch control on the automatic, only on the LS3.

In competitive mode, you floor it while foot on break, brings it up to 1500 RPM on the torque converter - it's like launch control, let off the brake and it takes off like a bat out of hell

Will the torque management react the same in the manual paddle shift mode? I heard that it disable the AFM so does it also help with the torque??

Is it better to have both traction and stabiltrack off or just traction of?. I am getting 1.8 60' time w/Drag radials just traction off. Also does the car throw timing if you power brake to long?

I've been shutting of both the stabilitrak and the TC off and I have the car is sport mode. I keeps the rpm's at 1100 or so. Doing it this way i get 1.60 60' every single time. A bad 60' for my car is 1.65. And I do have 18" drag radials. I just warm up the tires until I see a wisp of spoke and drive out of the burnout until it hooks and chirps.

This is the first I've heard of this feature for the L99. My understanding is that LS3 and L99 cars both have Stabilitrak Competitive Mode, but ONLY LS3's have Launch Control.

Can anyone confirm this? Has anyone tried it? I have an L99 and would be thrilled if this were true.

Anyone? Bueller...?

I exactly do the same and it works perfectly for me too, I wonder why it doesn't work for others?

All I do is brake torque to around 1000 rpms. Then I roll into the gas to launch. I consistantly get 1.90 - 1.97 sec 60' times on the stock tires.

I use D with TC off (everything else on).

I guess it takes practice to roll into the gas. I always seem to put it on the floor like I was squashing a bug!

Turn off Nannies, Hold Brake and power up to just below 2000 RPM, then launch. If you go over 2000 rpm on launch you will have excessive tire spin. I ran 13.000 @ 108mph with a 1.65 60' running the stock Perilli's on 24 lbs of pressure in rear tires.
