New Shoes for my 1LE

So I decided to bite the bullet and just go ahead and replace my Goodyears. I will remount them for track tires later. After hear all the good things said on the forum, I went with Michelin Pilot Super Sports. So far so good. I like the look and feel. Best part, piece of mind. No worries about cracking below 20.

Looks good - did you get the same size as the Goodyears? Been thinking of making the switch as well....

Why??? The MPSS are better than the Goodyears on a road course. Hell they are putting MPSS stock on the new vette..

Just to have spares. I only have 2000 miles on the Goodyears, so there are still good enough to beat up.

Tex, I have the same set up on mine. I switched to MPSS in Nov, due to trip to MO. I have had no problems since I switched. I also get an extra set of rims so I could just take off the MPSS and put on the GYs.

Nice!

Michelin's will be my next set too. They do all things well. The 1300 price tag is to be expected. They do love their tires and aren't giving them away!

Very wise move. I put the michelins on mine back in November. I left the fronts the stock size but went to 295/35-20 on the rear just because I like the slightly wider look on the rear.

For anyone interested, they cost me $1700 + tax back in Nov. They might be a bit cheaper now.

And, like the OP, I plan on using my good years when I take it to VIR in Apr. I know the Michelins are supposed to be better. But I want to burn up these good years first. I only have 2200 miles on them.

I did the same as Steve except I scored a second set of wheels so it will be easy to swap back and forth. When the GY's are worn out I will look for a better track tire but that won't be for a while.
