Is what I would have been telling everybody. But now because of the decision I made, I can expect from everybody. Here's what happened:

I have kept in contact with my dealer, but I don't bug him every day. The reason I don't do this is because I know that I can expect delivery until October. His allocation was 35 when I ordered and I was towards the end of the line. So, as I was about to have dinner with my g/f, I get a call from him. He tells me the following: "Hi Miguel, the reason I'm calling you is because our area manager came in to see us today." I thought, okay why do I care...He continued by saying "He gave us a gift today. And actually, I want to give it to you." What makes me so special I thought. He said, "I just wanted to let you know that I can put in your order today and you can expect delivery late April, early May." and is how I felt. BUT...I had to decline Let me explain: Currently I owe a good $10k on C.C.'s so that wouldn't look good if I try to fill out a credit app. Second of all, I don't have any money saved up for a down payment...yet. All I have is my trade-in. Thirdly, I really want Summit White and that ain't available.

In closing, I'd like to say that some dealers are doing what they can to get orders filled. Either this or they are just trying to make a sale.

No shame there... it's best to wait and get what you really want, otherwise you know you will regret it later!

OC Cali. I ordered from Connell Chevrolet in Costa Mesa. From what I've heard from another post is that they already have well over 100 people either on waiting list or order.

Thanks for not bashing me. It was sooooo tempting to yes right on the spot, but you and my g/f and family are right. Why settle for a color that I don't want?

You did the right thing. Its better to get the car when you can afford it then worry about having enough money to put gas in it. Im waiting until end of 2010 at least by then I would think the hype died down and the price can be worked at the dealer. If not I will have more of a down payment then.

You made the right move but from being at the end of the line and then getting the call for April... that's a hell of a surprise. Oh well, you'll be alright.
