RX Catch Can Results

After reading the thread on the open drain valve on the RX catch can, I decided to verify that mine was closed. I put a bottle under the drain hose just in case it was. When I turned it in the only way I could, this is what came out.

This is after 1469 miles in 8 months of driving (I walk 200 yards to work). It is just over 1/4" high in a 16.9 oz bottle (500 ml). It looks like muddy rootbeer, and leaves a cloudy residue on the sides of the bottle.

I am glad that this goop isn't in my intake.

EPA/Maintenance reasons. It's not a necessity. Your engine will run for a long time without one. However, it does help in several areas and it's beneficial to get the blow by out of there. If it makes you feel better, then the COPO camaro comes with a catch can. That's one that is installed by GM.

Usually anything stupid/harmful is EPA driven. I like to say the EPA has a lot of oil on its hands.

The bean-counters at GM removed this can so that they could sell you top-end intake cleaning every 15,000 miles. Either pay $140 for the catch can to keep the intake clean forever, or $500 each time you want this nasty residue cleaned off of your valves.

Look at this post for pictures: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=109416

I think RX makes a longer double valve one or something that I think was designed for superchargers, I would call them to make sure because I am sure
