Most will say no to going upside down... I say do what you want and can afford, no matter the cost of the money.

It depends how much debt you're willing to deal with. Your truck is going to lose 40% of its value minimum, they are going to rob you blind on it.
Personally, I wouldn't do it. Heck, I wouldn't deal with anything over $490/month for a car. But that me. Do what makes you happy, but think of all the consequences before the benefits in this case.

Speaking from a purely fiscal standpoint, purchasing a 2SS makes no sense. If you need transportation, buy a Kia. Buying a 2SS Camaro is much more of an emotional decision. Do what makes sense to you, and what you can afford.

I can tell you from experience, you are better off waiting.
I played this game over a few cars, kept taking the hit and making my payment larger and larger. The con is that my Camaro payment is $657 for 72 months. The pro was that I was fortunate enough to be successful in my career, and have had a significant promotion and salary increase. But if I hadn't, I would be stuck with a bloated car payment and been constantly behind on the value of my car vs. the payment. I am now wiser and more disciplined. I love my car, but I love a lot of other cars. But I am not going to go out and get another until this one is completely paid off, and I can get back on top of my auto finances.

My last car was upside down. I regretted it the entire time I owned it.

Do what you want if you can can afford it! I'm looking into trading for a 2SS as well. It certainly seems like its worth it, as long as you are comfortable with the trade and believe you will be happy down the line. Best of luck to you.

You seem like you have done this before. you know the drill and whatit costs.
If you are going to look to turn it over fast then the answer is no. Otherwise do what you want. It's your car and money!

You're better off paying that truck down some more then getting a Camaro. You'll feel better about it at that time too.
Some will say that life is too short, buy the Camaro now. But, life is also too short to make boneheaded financial decisions that will cripple you for years. |

Drive the truck until you have enough paid off so you won't go upside DOWN. Then Look at a USED ZL1. Or a Used 2SS. I'd also like to know what dealer let you test drive a ZL1 < WOW >
