quick question for the M6 owners

So, my car is still on order, but my brother has a 2009 Pontiac G8 GXP with is pretty much the same base as the camaro SS. He told me that the clutch was short and that you don't need to depress the pedal all the way to change gears. I've been in it when he's driving and he's not grinding the gears...his shifts seem good, but that still sounds a little weird to me. Is that something that Pontiac did...is it just him...or is the transmission really set up so you don't have to press the clutch all the way in?

Mines grabs about half way out...the same spot where there is the most tension/pressure and it wants to push the clutch all the way out.

Its just when the petal disengages the clutch, it happens sooner than fully depressed.

No, you don't have to press the clutch all the way down (or down very far at all) to engage it to be able to shift. Once you get used to it, you will probably just push beyond the pressure plate 'engagement' 2-3" to perform a shift.

Do the manuals have a mechanical clutch or a hydraulic clutch? My Firebird was Hydraulic and engaged a few inches from floor.
