In track or sport mode a stiff ride makes sense in relation to the standard SS, but in other modes I would expect it to be satisfactory.
Even if the MRC has softer settings, the rest of the suspension will be stiffer than an SS. I highly doubt it will be a cushy ride in the touring setting.

Guys the package is going to be AT LEAST $4899 because it includes MRC, Recaros, NPP, Big tires and brakes, and more. In fact it might be 5500......

Not expecting cushy, but not wanting anything to rattle out my fillings, either. It would be nice to dial it down when desired.

The roads here in Ohio are...let's say...winterized with potholes and cold patch.

Our ATS has sport suspension and low profile tires and you definitely feel the road, but that is the tradeoff for the great handling. I want that road feel or I wouldn't even be considering a 1LE. Just questioning how stiff the 1LE ride will be in relation to the standard SS.

I guess we will know when we know. I think we're all tired of waiting for any tidbit of information.

At $5500 it's still a helluva bargain. I hope your right.

Using that option as a way to 'price' the 1SS 1LE won't work because the 1LE is going to come with the 6 piston brakes. You won't be buying brakes twice.

Also, the 1LE will be a very stiff ride. So if you aren't into that it would be a reason not to get the 1LE.

I'm not sure how you came up with the $4899 figure, but I don't think anyone here would complain about that price. What is being argued is the people who think that the package might be close to $8000

I am agree with you, which is why I was making the point for not purchasing those very expensive options a la carte. If you are someone interested in 6 piston Brembos then why would you ever order them as an option on a SS for $3k, especially when we hope the whole 1LE package costs only $5K. I realize you get your original front brakes handed back to you in a box but that sure doesn't seem desirable. Now you have go Ebay your brand new calipers for pennies on the dollar.

All the talk of inflated pricing on the 1LE and ZL1 has me pretty much giving up on a 6th gen all together. I've been looking a C6 Z06's. Great bargains out there.

Agreed. I have a 2SS with MRC now and I wouldn't call it cushy in Tour mode. Track mode feels fairly close to my GEN 5 1LE as far as the dampers go. It feels tight but still has a bit more roll then the GEN5 1LE did. I chalk that up to the stiffer sways and tire setup on the 1LE. I don't track my car so I actually drive it in Tour mode most of the time and then when I have space with no one in front of me I will switch it to Track mode to tackle an on-ramp that has a nice bend in it. We don't have too many twisty roads in Florida.

I was doing that as well, but was concerned about the LS7 reliability with the lifter issue. $18k motor replacement scared me off.

Also, the price for a nice one is still like 40k+ and then you have the dated interior, no MRC, none of the new tech and no warranty. They are a blast though.

Actually, the 1LE is my plan B. Orignally was looking for a GT350. I guess plan C is a 1SS.

I'd like to think the 1LE package will be about $5000 over 1SS cost, hopefully a touch less but I wouldn't bet on it. If I could get one, maybe after a little negotiation, for ~$40-42K before taxes I might do it... I think it should be similar in price to the 2SS. I look forward to actually seeing the 1LE in other colors like Hyper Blue, Bright Yellow and Silver Ice, that might push me towards the 1LE.

I'm not sure anymore, with the Grand-Sport price they could well bring this car in, in the 45ish +/- range. And right at 50 optioned out. Remember u can take a base 1SS and build it up to 45, I get it with the package thing but it seems like they are giving us A Lot in this package. Believe me I'm with the cheaper is way better crowd. And don't forget a GT-350 is 47ish base and track pack goes to 55.

The GT350 has an exotic engine making 520hp. the 1SS 1LE better come in for significantly less than that.

Our car is lighter. When asked Al said he would let us decide how they did. To me that means he's putting in the drivers hands.
