Cosmetic vs Performance?
My car is still stock but I'm looking at upgrades and stuff.
My biggest wonder is: Why do people bother with cosmetic upgrades before performance? Some people would rather blow tons of money on a slick paintjob, halo headlights, and a carbon fiber hood, than a nice CAIntake and cat-backs, maybe even a turbo/super... I guess mainly because these folks aren't into the racing/performance of a car so they don't really worry about going fast? |

It's just preference.
Me personally, I went all-out with an LS1 car years ago, did all the valvetrain upgrades, heads, headers, etc, eventually giving it about the same power output as my Camaro SS has now. Been there, done that, don't want to deal with the reliability issues or the noise or expense. I'm happy with how the car performs, so I just do little cosmetic things to set it apart. No biggie. |

for some people the car they start with has enough performance already for them, and they just want to customize the look of the vehicle

I am not racing this car and the SS has enough power for the roads that I drive on, so why would I need to add more? I also just began my 5 year warranty and so wish to keep that intact.
I do want to make it look better though (cosmetics that make it "my own").

Seriously though people like what they like. The beauty of the time we are living in is that there are so many nice cars to choose from all manufacturers. SO many more choices these days, no need to fault somebody for something different than what you did. |

Why do people get a V6 when they could have a V8? Same concept.

It is a matter of personal preference, and there is no wrong....just what's right for you.
I just had a 750 upgrade done by ADM (pick up the car next Saturday). The only cosmetic thing I've done, and plan to do, is to put on some custom painted bow ties. I don't race it. I just want to look stock, but be able to blow the doors off if I want to. Others may think it's a dumb idea, but it's not there car. Do what you like, and respect what others choose to do.
