It doesn't seem too bad for hauling 1.7 tons at 71mph. Most of the best economy figures posted by car companies, are carried out at between 55, and 60mph.

Ok, are most people getting around this on the highway at this time of year? Anyone who watches their mpg please chime in. Also, does anyone think the missing hex bolt on the MAF could be the problem?

I would also recommend putting on a couple more miles before I worry to much. Drive your normal routes for a couple hundred miles and see what it is telling you.
I don't find that to be the case at all. I check my mileage on every fill up and the computer has been accurate within a couple tenths every time.

As for more break-in time, not necessarily true. I was getting over 29 mpg when testing on the highway. I had only 1000 miles at the time. (side note: I also had the MRT 2.0's installed at this time too.)

A few weeks ago I did a 170 mile trek at 70 mph and got 24 mpg so yours sounds right.
I was running in 37 degree weather back in April when doing my tests at 70 mph and was getting over 29 mph.

I don't agree. I have seen over 29 mpg on a 322 mile round trip (mostly highway) at 70 mph cruise set. And this included some spirited driving when I got to my destination at the half way point while showing my Camaro to my brother in-laws.

I have averaged 24.3 mpg for my 13,600 miles of owning my Camaro. I have seen as high as 33.3 while doing my 25 mile highway test with the cruise set at 65 mph in 46 degree weather.

I don't think its right either, when i got the car i remember seeing 29mpg going on a short trip to another town, it was about 25 miles at 65mph...I just need to figure out what the problem is.

I know scrmings recommendation on the PCV hose helped a couple other members out who had the same issue, but you said you thought yours was on snug...might be worth another look.

Good luck! Hopefully you won't have to resort back to putting the stocker on just to see if it makes a difference.

is that the hose from the injen? like the one that the oil diffuser was connected to when they were still shipping them?

At sea level with low temps and high baro you make the most power but, you also use the most fuel. I did a trip on I95 Christmas day in 40 degree weather averaging 75 and got 22.7 with my Airaid V2 and MRT V1 setup. Of course, it was running like a raped ape that day! DA was -765!

Yes, trace that line back to where it is connected to the engine and make sure it is connected well.

You should be getting 27 - 31 MPG with the stock intake, all highway. That is what my V6 consistently does.
35 psi in the tires, in D mode.

In this 45-55 degree weather out here in Kali my last all city stop and go was 16+ but included some spirited driving, more then normal. My average is 18+ same type driving in 65+ degree weather.I have heard and seen lower mpg when temps below 55 and using the oxygenated or 10%ethonal gas. An engine builder/race shop out here said the same thing, lose 2-3 mpg in these temps is possible. But today in 70 miles of 65-75 freeway and stop and go city did 22.5 so not so sure or my setup is helping with mpg

Just check the install and get some more miles on it and see if the ecu adjusts to it if it hasen't already
