I used the claybar last night and got all of the debris off of the car. The surface was noticeably better, but i still have a few spots on the hood. They don't look like water spots. My girlfriend said they looked like little wrinkles in the paint. Maybe something from the trailer? Anyone have any idea what I'm talking about and what I could do for them?

try using a wax or wet wax product next. the clay bar doesn't really Polish or Finish off the paint..

It probably just needs to have a wax layer applied.

Unless, of course, you have a problem with the paint itself...

I would suggest a good Paint Cleaner, go easy and use a non gritty cleaner maybe one of the synthetics, then follow that with a polish then wax it. You may want to visit a local reputable auto detailer who has at least three years of experience and ask his/her opinion. This is hard to speculate on and you do not want to end up burning through the clear coat.

It's a bar made out of clay

You tefloned your car, so you don't need it, unless you want to remove the teflon coating..

Without seeing picture's, I can only guess at what the spots look like and what's caused them. There could be any number of causes.

That being said, I'd recommend using a "cleaner wax" or similiar product which contains a very mild abrasive. It sounds like it could be something in the clear coat. You want to "cut" into it, but as minimally as possible. If that removes the spot(s), follow up with a good quality wax/polish.

"Wrinkles" makes me think of the damage done from bird droppings left on paint. I've seen this, and using the method stated above, I've been able to remove all the blemishes.

If there are "wrinkles" in the paint, it might be paint shrinkage or some contaminant was on the car when it was painted. You may want to have the dealer look at it. Given that the hood is aluminum, there could be some type of contamination issue. I know the Mustang had paint issues on some of the aluminum hoods.

I have some defects on my car...It looks like my car has pimples!! So it could definetly be a paint issue. I would love to knwo if GM would repaint, but I dont have the patience to start fighting with my dealer to have it fixed.

If somebody else wins that fight, then I am next to go in and get it fixed!

A PITA but well worth it if you want to do everything you can to avoid scratching the paint while washing and/or waxing. A clay bar will remove most surface contaminants. For a good look at clay-baring go here...

It's actually very easy to do.

All it requires is a little more time, and patience. But IMO, its worth doing.

Claying didn't remove my water spots either. I used Z-PC from Zaino. By hand it took alot on elbow grease. I used a buffer then by hand to get the small amount off. IMO the best stuff I found so far.
