The July 2009 issue Popular Hot Rodding magazine has an interesting article on the Camaro.

I can't find a link on their website. Buy the mag at your local bookstores.

I can name a few:
1) they came close to building a Camaro stationwagon in 1970 and again in 1971. It was going to be called a Kammback. It would have been really ugly.
2) one translation in Spanish for Camaro is "loose bowels"
3) GM cancelled the Camaro before production started for 1973 because the new Fed guidelines for front bumpers made the car too expensive. A last minute solution to the problem averted the cancellation.
4) There was one Z-28 convertible built in 1968.

The 2010 Camaro is said to be crafted by unknown alien beings using the Element 115to generate the gravity field for “Space-Time Compression;" thus, making it an U.F.O., not a automobile.

What are you trying to sell mags?

Either tell us a few or what's the point of your thread?

I actually read that article and it was pretty dumb. If you've been on this site for a few days, you know everything that article was talking about. It's mainly for people who don't know ANYTHING about the car. And some stuff was even wrong. One of the things was that the car doesn't come with a spare tire, only an air pump. False. The V6 models have the option of a spare tire. Another thing was about how the trunk could only be opened electronically. And they mentioned battery placement or something. Anyway, avoid article, it sucks. In a bad way.

Well for those that don't want to buy the mag here are all 20 things it covers:

1. Four Bomb Gauge Cluster = they say it's not worth the upgrade from 1 - 2 since it will be avaible as an add on.
2. Remote Start = located behind the rearview mirror, which gives a 300 ft radius.
3. Fake Scoop = Cannot function
4. Rearend Swap = they say the rearend and axles will not handle more power, and they are not interchangeable with the Caddy CTS-V
5. Trunk Lock = Can only unlock it with the keyfob
6. Spare Tire = No spare tire, but does come with air/goo kit
7. Truck Mount Battery = the battery is where the spare tire goes which helps with the 52/48 weight distribution
8. Singel Hood Strut = until now Camaros had two gas filled struts, and Mustangs have cheaper prop rods, the new Camaro has one gas filled strut which saves weight, money, and easy maintenance
9. Secondary Door Striker = There is one in each door, one in the normal place and the other at the B pillar, this was done to keep the long front hood and to achieve the 5 star crash rating all around
10. Air Inlet Resonators = they are different sizes and shapes that target different frequencies
11. Console USB Port = you can load your songs on a flash drive (USB) instead of needing an expensive player
12. The V-6 Miracle = 304 horses on 87 octane, 29 mpg, cannot beat Mustang GT's since the Camaro is 200 pounds heavier and has less torque
13. Paddle Shifters That Work = Better than the BMW 3 Series, and better than the Challengers AutoStick, stays in the gear you put it in
14. No Nav System = you can pay On Star or buy a GPS system, they say the biggest "oops!" in the Camaro design
15. Humongous Quarter Stamping = the rear quarter panel is 10 ft long and covers the quarter panel, c pillar, roofline, and a pillar. It was designed 113 times before finalized. This represents a technical and styling milestone.
16. Switchblade Key = it's identical to the VW key, GM designers say it's theirs and didn't copy it
17. Steering Wheel Really Round = in pics the wheel is an optical illusion because some thought it was egg shaped. This is created by the center hub of the wheel being a inch and a half lower than the actual center of the wheel.
18. GM Performance Division = the SS models get a GM Performance Division Badge under the hood, the division was disbanded in Feb. so those who buy the SS get a small piece of history and will become collectors items for these plaques.
19. Shift Pattern Warning! = the V8 and V6 manuals have different places for the Reverse, which can be dangerous if you test drive both and do not look before you drive.
20. By-Bye Z/28 = The plug was pulled, it would of had the CTS-V engine, beefed up drivetrain, functional ram air hood

These are the general summaries of the 20 things, most are a paragraph long. If it's not to your liking it is not my fault it is the magazines.

LOL, I sure hope your expectations were not too high. I expected a lot of dumb stuff to be mentioned. So, essentially this exceeded my expectations.
