Sounds like incorrect pinion depth during installation by whoever assembled the rear. I seriously doubt it's the gears themselves.

Most of the time gear noise is the result of a slightly off set up. But sometimes it is slightly off gear machining and there is no way you can get rid of the noise no matter what you do. I've also seen a few rare cases where the housing is off and every gear set you try will whine no matter how good you set the pattern.

We have had them checked and re-checked. i have one customer that even had a vibration and it turned out to be the Strange diff. its a shame this cant be an easy thing, Spraker said all they will do is give us a new gear. Looks like im buying an entire 3rd member again because of bad parts. We have sold over 150 of the kits and to be honest not all of them have the issues. i was thinking about setting up a jog so we could pr-test them in the high speed balancer but i cant put load on it.

We have given most an exchange unit, its a little expensive but we feel its the right thing to do.

Hey Frank, should I contact Strange or just pay to have a local guy check mine out? The whine is pretty loud with the windows up.

I must say how pleased I am with the way that Frank (Driveshaft Shop) is handling my issue. He contacted me and is getting a replacement replacement unit built and coming. This tells me that I made the right decision to purchase my 9" from him!!

Thanks again Frank for making this right. I anxiously await my replacement unit !!

Dude!!! What are you doing driving around with a Tornado inbound! Didn't you hear the warning sirens? You'd think being a resident of tornado alley you would know better.

That is the worst sounding diff I've ever heard. Yikes. That is not just a bad setup. Something is wrong with that combo.

lol, My son just told me a good one... All DFW area residents need to take shelter in the Cowboys Stadium.... Touchdowns never occur there!!!
