quite confused...can't find answer
Ok, I'm ready to order my camaro. I have emailed a number of dealerships asking them how many allocations they have, how many are filled, how many are SS orders. So i've narrowed it down to the ones that are realistic (one of them said i would get my car in fall 2010 and was asking for a 5000 deposit!!!). Anyways, the ones i've narrowed it down to are something like this:
1) 7 allocations, i'd be sixth in line, 5 SS orders ahead of me 2) 4 allocations, i'd be first in line for SS orders, unknown how many total orders they have 3) 4 allocations, i'd be third in line, 2 SS orders ahead of me 4) 15 allocations, i'd be fourteenth in line, 13 SS orders ahead of me So, the question is. Who do I choose? Here's the main thing I want to know. When a dealership says they have like four allocations, does that mean they will be getting their four orders in May when the first ones come out???? Or will the allocations be filled gradually through October????? Thanks in advance!!!!!!!!! |

They will be filled gradually through october. every dealer gets one v6 first then the rest are built by allcation.

So, when a dealer tells me they have four allocations....that means they will get four orders filled by October? correct???
And if that's the case, are they building the cars in the order they were ordered across the country??????? |

read this thread if you haven't
It will clear up most of the questions. The allocation process is a little more complicated than it seems http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=11542 |

Ok, promise this is the last question....... You said the first allocations a dealer has would be built gradually through October. That thread you gave me said that if one dealer had filled their allocations, you should go to another that has slots open to get your car on time..... So, if I order from a dealership that has four allocations and i am in those first four allocations, will i expect to get the car in May????
Sorry if i'm asking you to repeat yourself, like you said, this is complicated. |

It depends. There are no real guarantees that you will get your car before october.
It has to do with some very complicated laws on allocations. However I believe all allocations will be filled by october. I'm not going to say that you will get the car in May but there is a possibility that you will. And if I got anything wrong. I'm sure someone will come here and correct me. Like i said, it'scomplicated and I don't know all the details on how the system works. |
