Thanks in advance, and yes I know that description sounded like its from a singles site, so no comments on that, haha.
I am 39 with a pretty good driving record. I was told an additional $85 dollars a month on top of my other two vehicles for the 2SS.

$1020 a year seems a little expensive to me seeing that you are 39. Perhaps mine is cheaper because my homeowner's insurance is with the same company.

You can buy GAP insurance to cover the difference between the outstanding loan amount and the vehicle's actual value, should you total it before you owe less than it's worth. Usually a one time fee of $250-$500, depending on where/when you buy it.

You are likely thinking about what he mentioned, GAP insurance, which if they don't rip you off for it is very important to have. Some dealers will try and nail you for a few hundred bucks, it should be under $100 for this coverage (price is IIRC, I haven't dealt with new cars for a while). Your car insurance company doesn't sell it, only the dealer.

Then God forbid a week after you drive off the lot you toss it off into a tree, you won't lose the $3000+ in depreciation your car has from just driving it off the lot.

Both of you are correct. It is called GAP insurance.

I agree - too many variables to tell you an answer - even with my current ride, different companies range from $400 to $2000 every six months.

I currently drive a 2006 Chevy Cobalt SS Supercharged, and I'm with State Farm (I also have homeowners, life, and two motorcycle policies with them). Like all of you, the Camaro wasn't in the system, so I had the woman run it for a new Mustang GT.

The Mustang was $10/year CHEAPER than my Cobalt.

24 yr old male (clean driving record, knock on wood)...living in New York City. I can't wait to see how much this is going to hurt. I know Geico takes into account your education, profession, etc, so I hope some of that is enough to show I'm not THAT much of a risk.
