Buzzing sound on acceleration....

I just noticed this the other day. It is intermittent. Whenever I accelerate, when I first take off, I hear a rapid clicking/buzzing sound. I wondering is this is the valve in my RX catch can, as I never heard the sound before. (yes, the hoses are connected right, and I am using the RX Breather cap.) Anybody have any ideas what could be causing this? I am about to drive around the block and watch the RPMs, etc. to provide more detailed info.

ok....

Ok, just got back from a drive. Seems the "sweet spot" for this occurence is at about 1000 RPMs, like when slowly rolling up behind traffic at a stoplight.

can you post a sound clip? Also post all your mods. Auto or manual?

Will do...

I will try to get a sound clip and post it up. It's 2011 1LT Automatic. Current mods are:

Vararam CAI (on the car over a year now)

RX Catch can (installed about 2 months ago)

RX Optional Oil Breather cap

I installed the breather cap the same time as the Catch can.

I just did an oil change 2 weeks ago with Mobil1, and drained the catch can when I changed the oil.

make sure the drain valve is closed on the catch can, it should be extended down, not up towards the can.

I bet that is my problem! I thought it was dripping some oil from the can, so I "tightened it up", or so I thought!

Fixed!

That was it. No buzzing sound now. I would feel like an idiot, but my catch can came in with no instructions, so I installed based on on threads of others setups here on Camaro5. Other than that I have been more than pleased with the product. Thanks for the quick assistance with this issue!

yeah.. dont feel bad about it.. the same happen to me.. I honestly thought it was closed but it wasnt... also, I did had a buzzing sound from the catch can that was produce by the check valve.. it would go away after you step on the gas.. but since I moved it, I dont hear it anymore.. either way, tracy sent me a replacement check valve and a plain fitting too.. they are great whenever a customer has problems.
