Hi there, I have the 2014 l99 with CAI and Vmax TB. I recieved a free email tune with SCT4X for these mods and octane 91. I felt the gas pedal to be more stiff then usual so I returned back to stock. I get CEL from time to time when I suddenly floor the pedal. I guess the car is running rich now.

My question is: what really makes the gas pedal stiff after after tune? and is it something that can be fixed so it doesnt throw CELs.

A tune does not change how stiff the pedal is, that is a mechanical issue and probably why you are also getting the cel codes, i would check the pedal box as it sounds like its damaged

What code is the CEL indicating? Find that and post back. But in the mean time check your throttle body and CAI installation as well as related wiring connections.

Hey Steve, you did a tune on my 2010SS w/ LS3 about 5 years ago. I have a few guys that claim there is no way my LS3 could put out 419RWHP that you measured with my car. I only have a CAI, original exhaust so no headers.

My SS is a pre-production car, GM designation is RP6. Have you found that the RP6 engines have more power than the production SS's? Do you recall any other 2010 SS LS3 engines putting out 410RWHP after you tuned them. Or maybe you just did a better job tuning my car than others!

Since you did the tune 5+ years ago do I need any updates to the original tune?

No thats kind of a normal number i normally see between 395 and 420 rwhp, the manual trans car shows more power than the auto due to not having to drive the automatic transmission

I only get that stiff feeling when the tune is on. When it is back to stock, the pedal feels more soft but I assume that it is running rich. Does that have to do with the TB or CAI because the tune was actually done for these mods in specific?
