I want to hear the dreaded drone

A lot of folks have written about the drone at 1800 to 2000 RPM after installing an axle back or cat-back exhaust system on their LS3 or L99 Camaro. I've searched here in the forum and on youTube but I haven't found a sound clip from inside a Camaro demonstrating the drone.

I sure would like to hear exactly what they're talking about before I decide on which system to install. My Camaro is a fun car not a daily driver.

the best way to describe drone is a long loud hum at low RPMs. I personally find the sound relaxing and love how loud it sounds cruising in 6th gear. nothing I quick turn of the volume on the radio won't fix. I have the complete JBA set up and couldn't be happier with it!

if you don't want your car to be loud don't buy a muscle car and don't put a aftermarket exhaust on it, but that's just me

i don't know that you would be able to record it well. It's a resonating noise that is subjectively annoying.

Thanks everyone for you comments and Tytus for the youtube file. Just as I thought, the dreaded drone is no big deal to me. I've had several street cars that had nothing more than headers, a long collector and some Cherry Bomb mufflers. I enjoyed the sound of power then and I'm sure I will again.

The drone isn't the sound of power. If you have it, after about 10mins of highway driving you'll want to kill yourself. Watch what you wish for.

Gee, after listening to some of you guys, maybe I should drive and electric car instead of a LS3 Camaro! That sure would be exciting!

By the way...as you get older, you'll find that the colonoscopy exam isn't all that bad. It's the preparation that's not all that much fun!
