New ranch,house & 1500SQF Garage Build thread,and hopefully help vets...New pic 3/19

I am a disabled Vet, I am moving out of Houston to about 1 1/2 hrs north.I have purchased a ranch with a main house,a couple barns etc etc....
My mother who is getting up there in her yrs is going to move from Cal to come live in the main house in the end of march...Since the house is not set up for the disabled, and has some really nice stuff in it i could never use we have decided to build another house for myself...I am going to build a barn house to live in...which a lot of people do on ranches as it saves on taxes...Anyway I would like to post pictures as the build go along to share with anyone interested,as I am also building a 1200-1500 Sq garage inside the barn house...
I am also going to build myself a gun range to shoot ..Not to long just short range ...I will at a later date purchase some more land behind my property just so I can shoot long distance up to 500 yards before we get too my other people buying up land to build homes on...

I am going to also build a paint ball range to invite some other disable vets to come and get out and have some free fun...i will also have things like atv rides, maybe rent some horses or get some vet programs to bring theirs out,i may also have gun shooting for those that cam still shoot a weapon without issues...
I would like to build a program where disabled vets can maybe spend the day,or even the weekend all free of charge...If there are any membersor vets that would like to help out once i get set up pls let me know...
If there are any disabled vets that would like to come out and be part of it,pls pass of your info to me,spo i can contact you when we get going....I know it will be slow at first, but even if its on at a time,it will be worth doing it to give someone a good day..

Anyway If anyone has any ideas as I go along pls feel free to give your input,or if you know anyone that might be interested in paint ball for disabled vets pls feel free to pass on their info for when i get started..thsk...

In a garage that big, I'd do floor drains for sure so you can wash cars inside.

Is the plan garage on the main floor than live above it? Or all on 1 level?

This is a pic of the horse barn, not sure if we are going to have horses or not as it takes a lot to car for them, but we are going to take a couple extra donkeys from my dad's 450 acre ranch to help keep the grass down instead of having to always pay someone to cut it..

This is a picture of just the main road coming through the ranch, and a little pond its just a area that seems to always stay full of water, and the last owners called it a pond..It's going to need a air pump in it,and maybe dug a little deeper, and then stocked with a bunch of fish to eat the nasty little bugs so we can try to keep the blood sucking down...lol..Either that or find away to dry it up....I dont want any of our animals drinking out of nasty water

This is a couple over head shots of parts of the ranch, all those junk cars are gone from the barn, and we have gotten rid of one of the trailers.the plan is to build my barn house off to the right of the over head shot of the main house and guess house through those two trees..the main house is 2400Sqf and the new house will be 3600 sqf...with 3 bedrooms 2baths with all the other normal rooms a house has just inside a big barn,so from a distance it just looks like a barn...Its cheaper to build a barn house than any another house the same size. Also if i ever want to remodel,i can just move any wall any place i want as none of the inside walls are not load bearing, like with normal homes....
It something that ranchers have been doing for yrs,I think it started when city people started moving out to the country looking for a even better tax break when they didnt want to have a true farm or cattle to raise ....

I am very thankful,as without help from my dad and his ranch hands I would never be able to do it..I could not be out there rolling around in my chair asking for this to be done etc..etc.. so my dad is acting as the building contractor using his ranch hands and hiring contractors as we my need them...
The plan is to build about 90% of it ourselves...things like pouring the slap is hired out.
As soon as i get my tracked wheel chair i will be able to go out there and get around really easy, and decide what changes i want to make etc...

Here is a couple pictures of what i am going to use to get around, one is call the ripchair which i just back my wheelchair into it and drive it like a small Atv-tank its the yellow one

The other with my son is call a action tracker, and its a wheel chair i just sit in and drive just like a power wheelchair, which as you can see one of the action tracker's also stands up right..
