MRT V1 vs V2

I've probably listened to hundreds of videos of both these exhausts, and I'm looking for someone who has heard them both to clarify something for me.

I know the V1 is louder but has a raspier tone, but I'm looking for "good" loud sound. I plan on getting the Vararam CAI and deleting the resonator when I install whichever I buy, but I'm still trying to decide which one to get.

Basically, which one is just more of a powerful sound.

BTW, I haven't heard either of these in person, so if anyone is in the Phoenix area I would love to come by and hear either of them in person.

Thanks!

At WOT they will sound very much the same. Version one is louder to a certain RPM but has more drone too.

I'm not as worried about drone as much as I am about rattle. Would you recommend an X-pipe with either of these choices? I'm looking for a lot of sound to come out of my baby; good sound though, otherwise I would straight pipe it

No, you will not need the X pipe unless you go with headers like I did.

I loved my MRT by itself. Once I added the OBX Headers I had to add the X pipe to calm down the bad sounds at 2500 - 3500 rpm.

I was involved in both the development of both MRT Ver 1 and Ver 2. I agree with what has been said here... one big difference for me was the sound when you are doing some HARD REVS. The Ver 1.0 was much more raw and in your face... Ver 2.0 was a more full, refined sound...

The FATHER of our GREAT exhaust has spoken to us again from beyond the CAMARO wall.

Thanks John......

Ok, so I', 95 percent sure I'm going to get the V2, but I have one more question as far as everything else I want to do (down the road) is going to go.

My first order will be for the Vararam and V2, do the CAI myself and have a muffler shop do the pipe so they can delete the res for me as well.

Now if I wanted to do headers down the road and still be able to pass AZ emissions what am I looking at? Still looking for sound/power without breaking the bank. I was thinking I would need a resonated X-Pipe as well if I do this. Anyone got any suggestions?

Hah, I did read your whole thread a few days ago. Would you pass an emissions test? I would love to be able to do this all my own. :p

For anyone pondering the two options I say v1! I also opted for resonator delete and it just sounds SAVAGE. I had a coworker say he heard me hit the freeway onramp from like a half mile off!

Damn haha, is the difference really THAT loud? I come from a streetbike back ground so I don't know how much sound is really going to come from these guys. Do you still have your resonators?
