AGP Twin Turbo Install Price
About to pull the trigger on the AGP Twin Turbo, 800whp. I have a few questions for members:
- My installer recommended upgrading to the ZL1 Fuel Pump, that seems reasonable but I'm wondering what the real advantage us. - Seems the Meth Injection kit is a must? Any reason not to pay for this upgrade? - What did install cost? My installer is saying about $4k with Dyno tune which actually doesn't seem to bad. Anything else I should be aware of, right now I have a stock 2011 SS with a cold air intake. I also plan to get new headers and exhaust installed just to increase breathing. |

You won't use your air intake and you cannot use long tube headers with the AGP kit. The factory exhaust manifolds are more than sufficient and will support twice what you want to make.

ZL1 pump with FPCM and Boost a pump will be near its limits at 800RWHP.

U will need more than just a zl1 pump to support 800whp. I wouldn't run that much even with a BAP. Oh yeah and the advantage is that you car will not run lean and destroy your internals.
You will probably also want to upgrade suspension as well (bushings, trailing arms, sways bar, etc.). Also, I wouldn't personally go with a meth injection set up. Just makes things more complex and the gains are not all that much. Even at 5-600 whp you will have so much power that traction will be your biggest issue. Then of course if you do get traction you could snap and axle or destroy your diff. The bottom line is that the AGP kit will be a lot of fun when you do get it installed, just make sure you do it right.

Call Kevin. Seriously, he puts out a 800rwhp TT car almost weekly now. They have the combo nailed down.
$4k for install is crazy. They install in ~10-12 hours for a first time kit, so at $80-100 an hour figure $800-1200 in labor, maybe another $300-500 for a tune. Hell, ship the car here . AGP and CPR have been getting cars shipped in for turbos for the past year now. ZL1/BAP and meth has done 800-810rwhp time and time again with the kits. They don't need as much fuel as a blower car, and kit comes with 850cc injectors which can be stretched. Meth is great, and can easily get you 100+hp depending on setup. Without meth you are going to be octane limited to ~700ish. You can run high octane gas, torco, e85, or meth, but you need octane some how to get up there.

Now if that is fuel system, meth kit, install of fuel system, install of meth kit, gauges, etc, it maybe in the ballpark, but labor to install the actual kit should be ~800-1200, if that. Once you do one you can knock them out quickly.

Thanks for the info. I didn't mean I expected 800whp that was just in the description of the Twin Turbo Kit.
Who is Kevin, I'm going to guess he is the owner of agpturbo.com? I don't necessarily have a problem with shipping my car, that sounds like a good idea if I can save $2000 The price did include the fuel system install and gauges. Any recommendation on what exhaust upgrade I should make with the twin turbo? I like the Kooks set but I'm not sure what impact upgrading has on the overall setup. |

Vid of mine just to give ya a sample.. Straight 3" exhaust pipes are best IMO. Lighter. No back pressure. Sounds amazing. Turbos kill a lot of sound yet create their own distinct sound. Best thing ever |

Single. No need for dual until 850+rwhp.

Thanks. My intake is plumbed for dual so I'll just cap the one hole off until I get into the engine for my 1000+ hp lol.
