Group Buy: VIS AMS CF Hood or Terminator CF Hood

Does anyone know where these are manufactured?

I just picked up an IOM 2SS and am already thinking about a hood, but whenever possible, I prefer to pick up parts made in America. (in the effort of keeping total disclosure, I own a carbon fiber company, but I'm not big enough to take on hoods just yet.)

They are in Southern California.

Just out of curiosity, are the hoods carbon fiber? I just when onto the VISRacing.com and it says the hoods are carbon fiber

They are definitely carbon fiber....at least the ones you order directly from company are. Some online deals from random vendors that aren't well known could be selling knock offs though for cheap and probably aren't carbon fiber, and it's likely crappy quality. Stok with the real hood, and you should be fine.

I just got off the phone with my guy to confirm these are not knockoffs and what proof we would have. He said that all of the hoods have the VIS emblem / engraving in the back along with valid serial #s.

Btw..after seeing the pics of the Terminator hood of your friend's car, my decision is even harder to make now...haha. That hood looks badass!! This is a toughy. Oh, and he said he'll actually do free shipping to So. Cal and $140 to everywhere else after I discussed shipping options some more.

I understand where they are, but do they make the hoods personally & domestically, or do they outsource & import?

I can't speak to where the hoods are manufactured, but VISRacing is located in City of Industry, CA. The hoods will be shipped from there. You may view their website www.VISRacing.com and/or give them a call for further information. The company that I'm working with is not VIS, but they are an authorized dealer of their products, who are also in So. Cal.
