Diamond Sub Help / Opinions?

Hey, I have the Audio Integrations enclosure with bars, and just received the ******** T connector for the amp RCA/Power leads. I am on WoofersEtc.com about to buy a Diamond Hex S104 and Diamond D5 330.4. Anyone have that set up and/or an opinion or experience with Diamond Audio? Input welcome.

I have a 10" Diamond sub in my SUV and LOVE it (sorry, not sure of the model)...I will never buy another brand sub again. It's a very "musical"sub...nice and tight bass.

Diamond subs are sweet. I just installed a Diamond D312D4 in a sealed 1.5cu.ft enclosure with a Hifonics Brutus Class D mono amp thats 500wrms clean at 4 ohms.

16JUN10 - Purchased DAT S104 Hex Shallow Mount Sub, DAT HA700.2 Hex amp, and Monster Cable 4 ga. amp wiring kit 1000w from WoofersEtc.com.

Looking for Dynamat or similar to deaden the trunk.

So, I did the install today...whew, I now know why I am not an installer. Everything went well until the last little thing. One of the Audio Integrations eyelet connectors in the enclosure was poorly crimped and basically came apart as I was putting the speaker wires on the sub...boo. Not a big deal to fix, but I do not have any at the house and Radio Shack / Auto Zone are closed. So the 95% solution today, and 5% tomorrow. I am a bit disappointed that a $300 enclosure had such a poor QC on it. Pics in a moment.

Edit: Todd from AI just responded to my e-mail to him regarding the bum connectors. He said that they are busy replacing them after being notified they are bad. I cannot complain at all about the enclosure itself. It is a nice fit and blends right in with the trunk.

If you lived close to me I could build you a Quality enclosure for much less.

Good Luck.

Thanks for the offer. I am pretty pleased with the AI for the most part. The connector thing sucked, but the fiberglass box is pretty sweet.

Exclamation Good News / Bad News

Finally got the sub in yesterday. Fought through finding a replacement for the AI enclosure's internal connectors (poor quality)

...Go, Radio Shack!

Got the new connectors on; got the sub in place; turned on the power...amp in protect mode.

Checked my speaker wiring layout and adjusted. Turn on the power...sound!

But there is a popping from the sub on shut-down.

I am guessing that it has to do with the head unit staying on after the key is removed (for 10 min or until a door is opened), which means something to do with the remote power-on wire from the ******** T harness to the sub amp.

I would appreciate suggestions!

BTW, I did see the mini add-a-fuse fix from another thread, but I would prefer not pulling all of the carpeting trim out again to run the remote from the current location on the driver's side (BA amp) to the trunk fuse box on the pax side.

We're mailing out some new connectors for you today... as for your pop, crutchfiled actually has a decent diagram for creating a delay
