But I still can't wait to see what the LGX V6 will offer.

I think if you took an SS and added 30+ HP to the LS3 and simply dropped 200 pounds..............you would have a f$&@^%ing awesome car.

That is why a LIGHTER smaller turbo 4 can be a good performer in the 6th gen. I myself am more interested in the V6, but I can easily see the turbo performing very well. If the owner of the turbo 4 turns to an aftermarket tune...look out. If you read the ATS magazine tests, the V6 always traps at a higher MPH in the 1/4 mile because it has a more powerful top end, but from a dig - 60 the turbo 4 holds its own. So look at it this way....from a roll the V6 will pull away from a stock turbo 4, but if you pull up next to one in your V6 at a light...its a pretty good fight. I'd also wager a bet that in 0 - 60 times a tuned turbo 4 with its lighter weight and huge low end torque could give a stock V8 fits.

Omg it would be so cool to see something similar to the LT5 come back and scream in the z28!!!
Those things were monsters. Saw an older guy at famoso that had 2 zr1s and ran 11.73 in one and 12.01 in the other. |

GM under-rating engines like the Germans - I love it.

I love my v8s more than anything. That said, if they made a 2 stroke with 600 hp, I'd buy one if I could afford it.
Here's the deal. You want a v8. You got it. v6. Yep. i4. Yep to that too. All in the next generation Camaro. I have no inside information, but a next generation was no sure thing when the 2010 was launched. Kudos to GM and every buyer of the 5th gen for making the 6th gen a reality. In the end, I don't care what's at the bottom of the option list. I care what's on top. Every base Camaro GM sells helps ensure another year of production and hopefully another generation. |

The things people, and Federal regulations are demanding cars being built in the future are adding weight each generation. Unless GM goes down the road of using lighter/exotic materials, I would expect there to be a big weight difference between the 5th and 6th generations. If there is, it's likely to cost the consumer more to get it.

For the Camaro the 2.0T is going to be the base engine and the V-6 is going to be the upgrade engine. This is going to be confusing for some people I am sure as they want to compare I-4 o I-4 and V-6 to V-6. |

Those of you claiming more Camaros somehow magically increases cost are missing the whole point. By offering marketable options, the idea is to attract sales outside the normal scope of Camaro sales. A muscle car may not normally attract import buyers, but a lightweight (Alpha) car with a boosted small displacement engine and aggressive styling will. That means that the Camaro will be able to sell to current buyers plus small displacement performance buyers. You already have Camaros or at least an interest which is why you're here. If you're commenting here, you don't have to agree. You're already a sold car.
