I guess this topic will never die. I am very pleased with the direction and focus of the GM engineers, making an all around balanced car. Track capable and ready. After making the ZL1, 1LE, Z/28, Z06, and the new SS with MRC, just 29 more HP than the current LS3. The direction is clear.. GM wont chase HP so ya'll might as well kill that dream.

Umm what! You can't be serious?

I like the direction GM engineering has taken as well. Leading the segment by offering a well balanced car.

Ford has (will) followed with IRS, mag ride, proper tires, etc. so the next round will require GM to step up in power. Being balanced won't differentiate. The power level isn't important. Being able to run flat 11.0 consistently is in order to match up. Power beyond that doesn't belong on the street IMO. Cars will peak in this round.

I love my ZL1 and chose it carefully. It needs more power, has proven durability that can handle more power.

The hellcat really isn't.

I've seen quite a few ZO6s, M7 and A8s best or equal the NHRA time with DRs for the Hellcat. Don't believe the hype, the Hellcat is not effective at putting it's power down. I'm sure the new GT500 will best it too. The real question will be how much better the GT500 will be and how much will the new ZL1 weigh.

Personally I dont worry too much about stock vs stock. I worry more about durability and modability.
Speaking of, has anyone modded the Hellcats yet? Pulley, tunes?

This is what I like to hear.. Feedback from an actual ZL1 owner. I believe GM will increase the HP in the next ZL1, but it won't be anything crazy like 700 HP.. I'm guessing 615 HP..

Good question. I'm surprised we haven't seem what a full Bolton and e85 can do. Probably still fighting with the ecu.

Zo6 has gone 10.4 bone stock on stock tires. Even the ls7 zo6 got down to 11.0 stock and tens with drs years ago.

Hellcats arent touching that. What's the best stock time so far low 11s? High tens with a tire? They are a good match for a c6 zo6.

I'm guessing 640hp right under the Z06. We will see.

Dead serious. Stick around another decade or so and you will see the end of (affordable) street cars that can't manage 30 mpgs. Oh... and you have your punctuation backwards.
