MPG question
So there I was driving the car around and I have filled up about 5 times. I know im not the greatest on keeping my foot off the floor but im never really crazy on it. I reset my mpg every time I fill up. I noticed I only get around 13mpg. Are other people seeing the same results? Even when I went from Milton, FL to Deatsville, AL I got about 18mpg, and that was all highway and had my son so never really got on it with him in the car. So what are other people at on a average?

Lol, it'll improve with miles... I get from WAY WAY worse than that to way better... Depends on the foot position...especially in my car...

On the highway I get 25+, in town 5 oclock and 7 o'clock traffic I get 17-18 and that's with mashing on it a few times. It's not real good. I have 1700 miles on mine.

Well maybe after more miles like you said SSE, it will get a little better. This fill ups are brutal on me a $50 a pop, granted I only put 93 octane in it. And gotta love these gas prices at 3.95 a gallon.

I get the same. I initially had a trip from Detroit to Austin right after I got my car and I averaged 26 or 27 for that trip, but my daily commute is just around town and my average tanks are 12-14mpg since I do very little highway.

You always get your worst mileage when the engine is breaking in. Case and point my SS averaged about 14 MPG during the first 3,000 miles. Since that point it averages about 17.5-18 MPG on fuel runs. Same thing with my Fiesta also. It averaged about 35 MPG the first 2,000 and 43-44 MPG after it broke in. Most manuals will even state you can't expect to get an accurate gauge of fuel economy until the engine breaks in.

I have been averaging about 18mpg. Road trip over Mother's Day weekend, almost 22mpg. Way better than my SUV, so no complaints, no matter what the gas prices are!

I am assuming that with that low of MPG that you have a M6. If so, have you ever done a fuse pull on your car? If you haven't, search the site and you will find info on how to do it. I know that mine improved somewhat after doing so. It wasn't a whole lot, but anything is better than nothing in my honest opinion.

Last Saturday I drove on I-90 to Boston and back. With my cruise control set @ 74 MPH, no traffic and trying for high mileage, I could only get 22.2 MPG.
Mobil 93 is now almost $4.50 a gallon here in Ct but I don't care - It's worth it IMO. I wouldn't trade this SS for anything.
