Black Challenger, North Brunswick NJ

Got out of work late last night around 2am. On my way home I had a black Challenger that kept riding my bumper, then backing off and coming back on it again. When I turned onto the same street the police station is on, he started coming up on my left just up to my back passenger widow and backing off again. I am 50 yrs old, owned a funnycar, am a crew chief on a funnycar, and work at a drag strip, and know where and when to race. As I got to the next intersection, he blew past me on the left, on a two lane street, and that's when I saw that it was a North Brunswick unmarked car. Must have been pissed off I didn't take the bait!!

That's not right of them. That's encouraging breaking the law!

That is not entrapment nor what entrapment is in Canada.

That would be like using bait cars to catch thieves who try to steal them. They are going to do it regardless of whether its a unmarked police car or not.

Nah, not entrapment at all. Hard to get entrapment in the law , there must be multiple and unfair attempts by a governmentally regulated agency before you can raise that defense, well successfully anyway. Cop was definitely within boundaries of the law

OP, good for you having self discipline

Entrapment would be if he told you that you had to drive that fast and then arrested you for it. It's still a sucker move by the cop though, has nothing better to do than attempt to fabricate a violation as opposed to other useful things he could be doing, like helping old ladies cross the street

Ya because that's their main job to help the elderly cross the road and two there are so many old ladies crossing the road at 2am.

He is not fabricating anything. If anything he is saving lives. If racer A goes out cruising looking for a drag race at 3 am and a cop baits him into one then the cop just saved a potential crash from happening and stopped any injury that could have resulted because of the event. If the cop did not end up doing this then racer A could have found racer B and they both could have totaled their rides.

Not entrapment, just a cop being a douchebag. Good job for not sinking to his level.
