http://www.tbnweekly.com/pubs/semino...013_smb-01.txt

Terrible accident, don't know cause but they said it was raining. Have to respect this car.

I hope the driver turns out ok - hate to see these things.

Don't like to speculate on what happened, but normally rain + hp = be really careful.

That's awful. But hp should have nothing to do with it. All drivers should be driving responsibly at all times, especially in inclement weather. This is always the possibility, the driver was distracted by the MyLink radio. I know it's happened to me a few times.

Actually the combo of 580 hp and those tires on wet pavement is something most other drivers don't experience.

I hope they are ok but hopefully it was just a knock off SS or v6.

It's very scary seeing a car like mine in that cindition. It's reality reaching up and slapping some fear back into my face. Really hoping the driver recovers.

Now let me lighten it up a little...

Hey, that looks like the "ZL1" at the end of The Last Stand.

And....

In Florida, too bad it wasn't that gold pos parading as a donked ZL1.

Looks pretty bad, I lived in Fort Walton Beach for a while and they used crushed shells in the pavement when I was there and when it rained it made the roads pretty slick, I once slid through an intersection in my '85 IROC at normal speed no other cars in the intersection which I was grateful for.

Rescuers used the “rapid extrication technique” to remove the driver. Does that mean turned it into a convertible?

That was a bad one! Before I retired I cut many roofs off of cars and if they did a cut the roof off time was not on her side as she was appears to be a Trauma center criteria contact/transport. Rain is the great equalizer, must respect it. It doesn't matter if it's high HP or no high HP, it's the SPEEDING in the wet that gets you!

Yes cut the A pillars, B, and C pillars and remove them on a long board with cervical collar already in place and secured to the board. With the tools we use it's easy and quick to remove the roof. 11,000 pounds at the tips will do that!

Easy to get sideways in our cars. Need to pay close attention at all times. Never driven mine in serious rain but I would double the above when roads are slippery.

even at 580hp ,doing 60-65mph uses.., what less than 200hp?

aren't those tires offer any grip in rainy/wet weather???

are they, only good for dry pavement?

I've never had a problem in wet weather. Then again, I use common sense and take it easy when the weather isn't great.

Been driving RWD cars since I was 16. It's the tires this car has. I was driving home from Florida and got caught in Knoxville, TN when that storm that hit Oklahoma was rolling through. No problem I thought, right lane, speed limit, no rush.

Bull@#$%. That ass-end was going all over the place, front end was hydroplaning. I puss'd out and took the next exit and hung out at a gas station coupled with a white castle till it passed.

These tires are no-joke not meant for all-season driving. From that day on, I haven't taken my camaro out into any kind of rain.
