Shifter thread sizes?
Are these all the same?
Here is my current Barton shifter but want to swap out the ball. I was looking at something like this but wanted to make sure threads were compatible? Are they just all standard? http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item...d=221699629257

No, but a lot of the newer ones are 12mm. Some are 1.5 threads per mm, some are 1.75 threads per mm. Looking at your pick, I would say 10 or 12mm based on the size of the neck under the ball.
The one you asked about is 16x1.5 which is what Hurst/B&M use for the adapters in their handles. Below is a pick of all the adapters that come with a Hurst handle minus the 12x1.75. Their handles are threaded 16x1.5 and you select the correct bushing for your shifter.

Damn.. Now I'm even more confused.
How can I find out what thread size the Barton throw is?

Ah good call maybe I'll give that a shot. Then I'll know 12mm 10mm etc?
Just figured it would be known by Barton but I didn't get instructions or anything. Bought from fellow c5 member

Yeah sorry I have the jam but just didn't adjust properly before the picture. Was too excited after being upright for first time in two hours lol.
Thanks for lighting compliments.. Came up with a few cool things
