Until they are one the road, no one really knows. Did anyone notice that it had knee pads on the sides of the center console? Thats just down right funny, not just because they actually put them on there, but you could probably also use them.

Ofcourse its all speculation and fanboyism..However where would we be without all of that? Nissan fanboys will always buy Nissan and be hard to turn them over while the same goes with Stangfans and Marofans..

If I had to make a prediction, the Nissan will feel smaller overall and perhaps more nimble when changing lanes or around a curvy track than the Camaro. The Camaro will feel more powerful, be louder, and push you to the back of your seat in a stronger manner.(yes the Z will have torque power too, just perhaps not as much but certainly about as much as a Mustang) It is obvious which car is manlier when you are comparing the Camaro SS vs the last two generations of Z roadsters. The NIssan 300ZX turbo was a manly looking car, but they got away from that design and toughness...Overall it is personal opinion and we are in a Camaro forum...So take that as you will..

(Off topic commentary trying to mend things: I have nothing against modern day Japanese and have no problem buying Japanese products and vehicles, however I do have a problem with Nissan as I have explained already a few times so I won't go over it again.. Suffice to say there is a lot of feelings that still exist and rightly so between Americans and the Japanese since the attack of Pearl Harbor wasn't that long ago. This may change in time as it has for the Civil War "feelings" that they shared towards one or the other during and after the war.. With that said, Captain America was correct in that many people have forgotten about 9/11 and that is a shame as it isn't even a fight with a country but an idealism and one must never forget that. The first steps for mending the American Japanese relationship has happened already as we call them our ally and we must continue doing that so long as they never choose "World Domination" again as an option. Same goes with Germany... most German's are good people and I have no issues buying a German car.

So with all that said, lets continue this topic as it is interesting and remember what car we all have on order.. And be happy about it as it will be one hell of a ride..

but this is all armchair racing till the cars hit the tracks.
I've read in more than one thread that the Camaro 8:20 run was made in wet conditions with a car still being dialed in. It may just be hearsay or rumor but I expect the final product to be more than a couple ticks ahead of the Cobalt, even though the little thing is quite an overachiever.

All that being said, if the new SS offers steering & handling comparable to a 350, much less a 370, then I will be quite happy. I had a great time driving an '04 350Z but the interior is far too cramped for me to ever purchase one.

I saw the 370z in person at the L.A autoshow and to be honest, It is one fine car but I cant see myself driving one. I mean it seems too small, but the Camaro SS, ahhhh that is perfection.

First test of the 370Z is in. the Z pulled .99 on the skid pad, stopped from sixty in 106 feet, 0-60 in 4.7 and quarter in 13.3 at 105.7. Not too bad for the little six shooter from the land of the rising sun. Personally, the skid pad and braking are what have me excited; I am eager to see how the SS matches up holding the road.

WTH happined to the "3100 lbs" curb weight ??
Could have been a 13.1@107 car

"Curb weight 3355 lb"

"The net weight reduction, according to Nissan, is around 88 pounds, depending on trim, although our scales indicate the 370Z with the optional Sport Package (viscous limited-slip differential, 19-inch forged Rays wheels, Bridgestone tires, Akebono brakes, SynchroRev Match, front and rear spoilers, 0.29 Cd) weighs 12 pounds more than the Nismo 350Z"

I would very much like to see what happens with a Production SS on the Nordeschleife. I would like to think with the Fe3 suspension and the 6.2 under the hood it would throw out an 8:02 or even an 8:00. Like Craig said.... when this time was put in, this was a VERY rough car.
