In first gear you just hold the clutch in and rev the engine then pop the clutch.

for 2nd 3rd and 4th you need to speed shift or power shift, or quick shift... all the same thing.

Check this out.

My '95 was an M6 and probably made close to 280 RWHP (it would trap around 104 MPH) and I could get an easy 1st, 2nd, and sometimes 3rd gear chirps. I think the 5th Gen' will probably have a little more difficulty in getting 3rd and particularly 4th because of weight and what I think will be great parasitic loss from a heavier driveline and rolling stock. Those tires are two inches taller than the OEM tires on 4th Gen', that rear may squat and plant better because of the IRS, but the power is higher, and gearing is about the same. I HOPE it does, but think it's no too likely. Someone prove me wrong

Also a heavier car will spin more, yes their is also more weight on the tires, given a constant coefficient of friction it will get more traction, but its still harder to accelerate more mass, resulting in spinning. Its not exactly a linear ratio between the two. Only half of the added weight over the corvette is over the rear wheels, however all of that weight has to be accelerated.
So you're telling me that if you had a 2000 lb car with 500hp, it would be HARDER to spin the tires than if you had a 6000 lb car with 500 hp?

The coefficient of friction, like you said, is not linear. If you were to graph it out, it's a parabolic function. That means as the weight doubles, friction increases at an exponential rate.

Well if we are going to split hairs here, it's rolling resistance if we are talking a moving auto on wheels. Rolling resistances main component is really the tire, not the weight (when we are comparing vehicles of comparable size 3300 lbs versus 3800lbs). Hysteresis is the main contributor to rolling resistance. Hysteresis is a characteristic of deformable materials. In simpler terms, the amount of flex in a tire is more important than any other force IF the N force (the force pushing back on the tire - think ground) between comparable autos is similar - as would be the case when comparing two cars.

old tires with less tread and hardened rubber would be more likely to spin than softer tires with new tread

But it does have a great F/R weight ratio... put on the spare donuts LOL NICE!
sorry, but even if you could get a donut with the SS, it wouldn't fit over the brakes

They would spin, but they don't make much noise at all

back in the day? we still do that today. actually thats part of the reason my trans is busted right now. too much pressure on the 2-4 band. but a reverse manual valve body, trans-brake, and a 3600 stall are on their way.
