stock mufflers

would it be possible to remove some of the sound deadening material in the stock mufflers to make them louder and less restrictive?
how would it sound?

I do like the sound of the mrt mufflers. I was just wondering if there was a way to modify the stock mufflers to get more sound out of them without cutting them off or going aftermarket.
Sometimes this site is really good at answering questions and sometimes the thread gets completely off topic without giving a solid response to the actual question.

I switched to the MRTv2 mufflers and I am VERY happy with them.

The problem with compromising what GM put on for stock mufflers/suitcases is the material degrades very fast in any extreme weather. I'm not sure why it does what it does only know that a friend drilled a few holes in his for more sound and all around where he drilled those wholes quickly rotted out i won't even say rusted out because there wasn't any rust it turned black and slowly started chipping away. He did replace the mufflers after that with Cherry Bomb Glasspacks and then added the Resonated X-Pipe to tone down the drone and eliminate rasp i ended up doing the same thing.
