Apparently this is a better place to store a Camaro than the bottom of a lake.

All '85 IROCs were 305s. No 350s until '87. But since it is a stick, it's carbureted. Chevy installed 3 different 305s in 85 IROCs: 165 HP Carbureted LG4(Available w/either a 4-Speed Automatic or a 5-Speed Manual), 190 HP Carbureted L69(5-Speed Manual only) and a 215 HP Tuned Port Injection LB9(4-Speed Automatic only). The 190 HP L69s had 5.0 H.O. emblems on the rear bumper, so this car has the 165 HP Carbureted LG4.

I bought one new with the 215 HP LB9 and it ran low 15s at the strip and I thought it was pretty hot. 18 months later I traded it for a burgundy '87 with the 220 HP B2L 350 Auto(all 350's were autos). It ran 14.50s and I thought it was really hot. It's still parked in my garage with 34k on it.

The original owner, who put it in the trailer, ordered it direct from GM and had it shipped to him, so it never went to the dealer to recieve dealer prep. It was ordered with a 305 TBI and no wheels, as his intent was to immediatly drop in a big motor and put aftermarket wheels on it. A 350 was not available in the IROC until 87 and was never, except for like 2 one offs, avaiable in anything but an auto. I read he never got around to doing this and then passed away So the car sat in this trailer until someone tipped off the guy in the video about its were abouts. so very cool

actually found a thread on here from 2010 on this

http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=73175
You don't really mean TBI, do you? Chevy didn't put any TBI engines in Camaros until '88. All the '85s, '86s and '87s with fuel injection were TPI and they didn't put a stick behind a fuel injected engine until '87, so that car is obviously carbureted.

during the mid 80s when most all cars were junk, these camaros were of decent quality and style. i had a 1986 RS camaro with 305 4 bbl. that car ran like a champ and i didnt do anything but change the oil and put tires on it, got it to 170K before i sold it when i got married. but, that car ran like a top!

they weren't..you can see in the video when it was still in the trailer, when he looks to the right under the car.the tire was bulging against the 2x12s.they probably aired them up before the flatbed wrecker pulled it out.also being stored in the trailer kept the tires from being completely dry rotted by the sun so they stayed inflated.you can also see where the tires had been flat before the car was moved, now on the wrecker.

If anyone wants more info on this car there is a monster thread on thirdgen.org. It was started around five years ago when this car was first discovered.

the guy that purchased it, it is in his "collection". Still has like 9 miles on it, still has the plastic on the seats. It's all shiny and clean now. Very nice.

The current owner has it in his collection, correct. And he has stated he will never drive it. It will remain as is for as long as he owns it.
