Any recommended shops in the Charlotte area.

I am thinking since I have the lifter tick possible doing the LS3 conversion. Not sure if I want to deal with the dealership at this point. It's always like you are enemy and when you go for repair work.

Does anyone know of any good shops that could do this and do it right?

I am in Lincolnton NC near Charlotte and Moresville.

Thanks,
David

PCM of NC. They are here on Camaro5 as well. Anything performance related, they are probably the ones to go to.

(EDIT: noticed this thread was moved to mid-Atlantic and it should be southeast. Thanks!)

Thanks! called them and they are closed today.

Anyone know the cost to do this? What CAMS do you recommend to add a little nice sound and keep close to stock. I guess I am asking what can I do take care of the lifter issue and add a little extra HP and cam sound without changing the car much. I drive this car to work every day.

I don't want to change the intake etc. Just Cam, springs and lifters at this point.

Thanks,
David

I think it is about 2500-2700 to install a cam in a LS3 and 4000 in a L99. Maybe more or less, because I am working off what I remember reading.

Just wait and talk to PCM. In the V8 section they had lots of different cams and I remember one being advertised as driving like stock.

Thanks for the reply's

I'm just torn between getting GM to change the lifters or go the LS3 route.

I am currently plagued with the lifter tick at start up.

If I can get the stock lifters fixed under the TSB I may just go with the headers and tune.

Scares me having a new motor opened up.

Thanks again
David

They are a bit of a drive but if you want it right there you go.....

I know some up here that couldn't get it to run right and they trailered it there and they fixed their big mess pretty thoroughly......

If nothing else they may have something closer to you or suggest......
Just a thought
