Torque Gauge in the pod?

I have seen it in a couple of posts and searched, but nothing really concrete..what is the deal with no engine torque gauge? Did I miss something? I looked at the close up shot from the Edmunds.com article and it shows oil press. oil temp, trans temp and volts. I saw on a post that it was only the automatic that did not get the gauge, but the picture was of the manual. Can someone shed some light on this?

They pulled it... What you see in the photo is what will go to production.

It's a more useful set. You can always put the car on a dyno to get those numbers.

We don't think so. But that hasn't really been officially confirmed.

Well just as on the G8, the data provided is useful, it is just the presentation that lacks. Holden went back to the 1980s to have Atari design their displays, and Chevy went back to 1967 to learn about interior ergonomics. Still, knowing the vital stats about oil is pretty darn useful. It keeps your car alive. Battery, transmission, and electrical gauges are moderately useful. A torque gauge is pure novelty.

If you don't like it, don't tick that option box when you order yours. And the oil and battery gauge is gone in the G8. And the point is heritage, it was in classic Camaros and many think its a cool retro touch that helps to set the Camaro (further) apart for anything else on the road.

A transmission temperature gauge with a manual transmission is about as usefull as a life preserver in a bath tub

A car with forced induction (like the supercharged Shelby GT500) has a boost gauge, which is kind of cool. Seems like Dodge and Chevy each wanted their own cool gauge, but obviously a boost gauge didn't apply. Dodge came up with a g-meter to read g-forces during acceleration, braking, and turning. Chevrolet came up with the torque gauge (much more useful than a possible horsepower gauge, which would pretty much just have its needle mimmick the tachometer needle) but has apparently thought better of the idea and instead gone for function over what would just be a gimmick. Or perhaps testing showed that teenage drivers with dads who buy them 422hp SS Camaros would stare in awe at the boost gauge on the console in front of the shifter instead of watching the road in front of them.

The torque gauge isn't useful, but it's pretty cool. If you trust the center module, then you really won't need the other gauges.

Without performance gauges, I'm not really sold on the gauge 4-pack. They look nice, but I could get a multi-function gauge or navigation system and install it there.

What you can't do at the factory, you can do in the aftermarket.

I finally thought of a good question!

I haven't seen ANY pics of the gauge-delete console...in other words, whats gonna be there if the gauges arent? just empty space, or more "pluggy thingies?"
