I doubt it will be any more of a google ad platform than the Android phones are and even if it is, being an open source project, everybody in the world is gonna hack it so it should be easy to mod out...

Wow this guy must be living under a rock or somthing? When companies see a trend starting they jump on it. Example, Apple came out (not saying they were the first) with the iPhone touch screen and "BAM!" every carrier now has touch screen phones. Example 2, GM came out with the Camaro and "BAM!" Ford comes back with a better engine too and some upgrades. Companies don't "copy" each other they just see a trend and they adjust to the customers' needs and wants. Anywho, I think that GM parterning with Google would be a great idea and maybe even better than Ford's Sync.

Maybe, i'm old school. Give me a 426hp v8 and a manually tranny and I am set. I could care less about google, sync, etc. Guess that is why I got a 1SS

Looks like it's official that GM and Google have joined forces but for now only to make an app for the Volt.

LOL. Works for me and my Verizon account, lol IMHO - it's about time we get something similar to Ford's deal. Good job GM. I just wonder how long it's going to take (assuming this trickles down to us) for Camaro to pick this up... The sooner the better. For example: 2012 would be great...
