So Cal Camaro5 Fest III Road Trip or ?
So thought I would start a thread to start exploring our options to get to Camaro5 Fest III in Indianapolis, Aug 2-4, 2012.
Road Trip? Ship our cars round trip via an enclosed carrier such as Reliable and fly round trip? Ship/fly one way and drive the other? Fly Round Trip and rent a Camaro there? Roughly 2100 miles each way (31 hours) depending on stops and meet-ups

First on the list is start saving now....
I can tell you shipping will cost about $800 one way on an open truck, and enclosed is $1,300 one way. I have checked it before for the Power Tour shipping one way. Of course, cost might be better if we rent a whole truck. Then add the plane ticket costs to that. Driving both ways will cost for gas, roughly 10 tanks round trip(4,000 miles) for the V8 crew, so again roughly $60 tankful x 10 tanks = $600. Will take a few days each way at a minumum, so factor food and motel figure at least $100-125 day. So both ways $500 + Gas $600 = $1,100 to get there and back before the cost of the Fest, hotel, etc. Last option fly there and try to rent a Camaro there. If they are available, they cost about $100 a day for the V6. I may have to fly due to a conflict in schedule that week with my Boss' vacation plans. I can see if my buddies in Indy can get me a rental Camaro before I get there. If I get my way, I would much prefer to drive out the 40, hit parts of Route 66 I love to stop at and enjoy the ride....

.
I'm sorry but I'm a bit confused about this whole rental thing..... why would anyone go to camaro fest in a stock camaro rental ? I thought this was the one time of the year where we all show off our beautiful cars that we work so hard for ...... besides are we really trying to be remembered as the west coast with the most stock rental camaros or the west coast with the baddest and most sweetest camaros in the USA ! I'm just saying
