Ratchet on stock SS seatbelts
I have seen people post about pulling the seat belt all the way out to get it to ratchet and then lock to keep you in the seat better. I can't seem to get the belt on my 2017 SS to do this. Is this only for the 1LE?

I haven't tried that on my 1ss but what i do is pull my shoulder out from the belt.
place the belt under my left arm and make sure its tight on my body. then pull the belt out as fast as you can. It should lock. then slide your shoulder back in and it should be tight.

I have also heard that if you back your seat up a bit, pull the belt snug and then adjust your seat to tighten it up, it will stay locked until you unbuckle it. Haven't confirmed it though.

I know my 16 SS doesn't have that feature. I had it on C6 Vette, so I thought newer Camaros would come with it, but sadly no. (it was one of the first thing I tried out when I got the car)
ZL1 has it. (I tried it in Becky's car)

My 1LE does have this feature, odd the normal SS wouldn't.

Good to know ........ thanks for confirming, guys. It may be trivial to some people, but it's obviously a good thing to be held snug in your seat when you're ripping around the track! Seems silly that GM wouldn't just include it in ALL of the 'Vettes and Camaros!?!

I wonder if you could fit the 1LE seat belt ratchet to an SS? I assume the mechanism is the only difference.

I suspect it's likely an internal function of the belt retractor, therefore, most likely requires a replacement of the whole belt/retractor mechanism from a 1LE / ZL1, but I could be wrong?!?

1. Move you seat backwards (and down) a few inches. 2. Start pulling the seat belt all the way. When you get almost to the end, pull it harder and you should hear a locking click. Release the belt quickly and it should lock on your body. 3. Move the seat forward and it should tighten the belt on your body. If it does not work: just move your seat backwards a few inches / pull it quickly to lock the belt, then while the belt is locked move your seat forward. Goodluck
