Transformation to 1LE begins

Car goes in tommorrow for some upgrades, here is a shot of the OE 1LE struts and shocks with the correct shock mounts. The reat of the components will be updated later, as they are a surprise.....

I chose the 1LE because they work and they are much more cost effective than aftermarket. The other option was coilovers, and I did not want to spend that amount for the limited track use it will get. The 1LE is a very cost effective way to get the suspension done right. I will say that I will be using another manufacturers ZL1 specific sways, springs, toe links, LCA's, bump steer kit, ect. more on that once I get that together tomorrow.

Go to a dealer and have them look up parts to a 2013 1LE and order...

Those parts won't do anything for you until you get your sway bars upgraded.

Please report back on the ride and cornering difference with just the strut and shock change.

I'm intrested in hearing how they work as well. Approximately what is the cost of the 1LE struts/shocks?

Everything cost me about 1K for the whole package. I did a complete conversion with 1LE parts. Except the rear cradle which will be pedders full bushing replacement once the weather gets a little warmer. I also already had the springs and didn't need to buy them.

I paid 70 from the front struts and 180 for the rear shocks.

Yes Matt it will be ready for the rally.

Here are the parts installed today, LSR is a pleasure to deal with and their prices are very competitive. LSR Springs, LCA's, Toe Links (Billet) Bump Steer ket ( since lowering the vehicle alters the steering geometry, this returs the steering angles to the correct angle), Front LSR Sway and rear ZL1 sway until the LSR sway comes in. The ride is incredible, corners on rails and very compliant on bumps, no harsh ride at all and turns flat.
