Summer almost over, now what for tires?

Even down here in Alabama it will be cold, below 40F during the winter at times. I hear that it will be like walking on marbles when it gets that cool.

I just wanted to see what everyone was thinking of doing for tires. I have almost 5K on mine and they may last another 5 or 6 months but it will be cold before then.

Please list your thoughts and URL to tires you are thinking about.

Unless you plan on driving on snow and ice, I'd keep the stock tires on your car. You just need to understand that they won't grip as well in cold weather.

Now if you lived in Chicago and your Camaro was your daily driver, I'd plan on getting some winter/snow tires.

If you have the RS package with the summer tires than yo will probably need to change them. The P Nero Zero's are OK all season tires. If you want some great winter tires get some Blizzaks (pricey though).

If you do not get a lot of snow or ice you will be fine as long as you take it slow and easy. I definitely would not be doing the take offs you have been doing when it gets cold on these tires.

I'm up in NY.. and its going to be my daily driver haha.. I've been on discount tire now looking at all the tires. Can't decide what to do. I wanted to get just all season.. for all the time. I don't want to be switching in summer/winter.

Allseasons are the quickest way to smash up your vehicle.

I hate it when people that think all seasons work in winter/snow/ice.

It just depends on your location.... You can use Summer tires in the winter if your location allows for it.

2 LT, no RS, BECAUSE I WANTED 19'S---All-Season tires.

Live in SOUTH Chicago Burbs. My bro talked me out of the RS beause of the SUMMER TIRES.

I plan on very little diving when there's snow on the streets.

Anybody with any other Tips-------Other than getting snow tires?

not going to lie, I'm a bit nervous about getting the camaro and having to drive it during the winter up in NJ. The camaro will be my daily driver so obviously i'll have to make do. I wish there was a decent winter/snow tire out there that wasn't ridiculous priced.

I live in the snow belt and when I found out that the tires on my SS would cost $560.00 each I went out and bought a 2001 Buick Century as a winter machine. The $560.00 price is for the original P-Zero's, my neighbor got a flat on a back tire that could not be fixed on his 2010 SS and that is the price that they quoted him. I do not think that they make snow tires in 275/30/20. I drove all of my other Camaros in the winter and they are not very good winter cars. Too much power, too wide tires, light back end = no traction.

I have driven on all-seasons for 20 years during our great Chicago winters and not once have I ever had an accident. All-seasons are fine. You need to be a smarter driver in the winter months. Slow down, don't follow as close etc..

I'll be swapping out my RS summer tires for 19" all-seasons.
