Bigger coolant resovoir
Anybody know a good bigger coolant resovoir that will work with the CAI intake? Looking to get something better than the tiny one it came with

The coolant reservoir is on the passenger side of the car. The windshield washer reservoir is the one by the CAI.

I know, but what im saying is a few companies have made bigger resovoirs that go right behind the air intake, and i was wondering if any company made one that fits next to a CAI intake.

Oh, gotcha. Does your car run hot? I havent seen too many complaints on over heating with a Maggie.

A bigger tank won't help much when it's all said and done. Maybe stave off the hot temps very temporarily, but that's about it. When that extra coolant is heated up, you simply have more hot coolant that needs cooling. You're much better off trying to upgrade the heat exchanger and trying to aid air flow through said h/e. You can do some good with a bigger/better h/e along with a higher volume coolant pump.

^^^^^^^ What Old Motor Head said. I've run an extra two gallon reservoir and dual pumps and bigger heat exchanger and meth with only mediocre improvements under high ambient temp conditions. The bottle neck in cooling the iats lies beneath the Maggie....the brick intercooler. You will still add about 30 to 35 degrees of temp increase at the finish line to the starting IAT temp. You have about three choices to significantly control the IAT's.
1. Run in cooler weather using some of the mods above 2. Install an ice chest and pump....PITA but it does work 3. Chiller unit utilizing the car's A/C system

Shoot me a text 832-630-8231 or pm
My intake air temps stayed below 40 degrees the whole night while doing pulls and making 1000 on the dyno. |
