Strange rustling sound
Can anyone help me diagnose this? It's coming from the passenger side. It's loud when everything is cold and goes away 99 percent when car warms up.

Yes, the wonderful rustling sound, more noticeable when the car is cold. I have enjoyed it for many months.

My Silverado does that when the humidity is high, or during any type of fog or precipitation. A rustling sound. Never during dry weather, never any time except when there is moisture in the air. I have laid awake nights trying to figure that one out.

It almost sounds like it's coming from the passenger seat. Anyone notice it with a passenger present?

It is interesting that it is being noticed with the 2013's too, my SS is a 2011 Mfg date of Aug '10. I have seen other posts on this noise from C5 members, they have said that it might be a bracket or connector under the shifting mechanism. it is definitely metallic

Let me know what the dealer says... They won't wait for the car to be cold to test it out lol. After I get there they drive it and all I get is a "it sounds fine to me."

I'm thinking exhaust cover/heat protector. its bolted to the bottom of the car with crappy made push on type nuts to studs welded to the bottom of the car?
do you have stock exhaust?

I have had this happen to me twice. I asked on a thread once. O one knew. I equated it to the sound of marbles being spun in a glass jar.

I've heard this sound since the car was new (I have a 2012), always thought it came from the center tunnel area. Well, at least it's not just me .

My 2010 did it and the dealer couldn't figure it out. My 2012 does it also. I think it comes from the passenger dashboard area????

Have you taken it to the dealer? I'm curious, but I dont know if the noise is bothersome enough to risk a dealer visit for me unless it could cause other problems.
