What were you using before with your Maggie, and did you have to retune for the CAI?

I had the reg polished CAI tube which was cut down. I didn't get the car retuned. It didn't call for a retuning. But I'm sure it wouldn't hurt. CIA did prove gains with the rubber elbow.

Guys I hate to Rain on your Parade but that tube does need tuning if tuned with other tube first.

They have 2 very different MAF Calibration Tables.

Ted.

Why did they go to the large silicon elbow? I'm not a fan of the look. I cut my tube down to fit the whipple, but I'm not happy with the fit.

We ran tests both ways and got better gains with the elbow. Also, its not a standard 90 degree elbow, we engineered that elbow specifically for that application and were able to get a better radius than the tube could be bent to for the increased gains. Hope that helps.

Too complex to get the bends done properly/cost effectively in a one-piece tube according to them.... :(

Thanks Bill,
I remember a thread or a video from awhile back that explained it, but I couldn't locate it. I guess it is one of those things where you made the decision to go with performance over looks, but I would rather sacrifice a little performance for looks. I still love the box over any others out there. Just not the best looking tube. I wish you offered an option. Still weighing all of the options.

Personally I like the look of the whole tube better as well, but we really try and stay perfomance orientated as much as possible. Also, without giving away to much info to our manufacturing procceses, we did not feel confident that we could consistantly produce that tube with the new radius and still have the high luster ceramic coating finish on the tube look good. The bend would have required some things on our end that would have been much harder to maintain Quality control over. Anytime we design something we have a lot of factors to consider including performance, looks, manufacturing time and costs, final product cost to the customer, and maintaining certain QC levels. Its one of those things where you have to sacrifice on one end to gain on the other.
