Virginia Motorsports Park
Does anyone ever come out to Virginia Motorsports Park on Friday nights for their test & tune? I went out last night for the first time and had a pretty good time, but was the only Camaro there. Tons of Mustangs all talking trash of course.

Jason,
I have been there before, kind of a drive for me. How did you do against the Mustangs?

I beat a few and got beat by others. There was one guy running a 2012 Mustang GT that was heckling me a little. Told me he only had a cold air intake and off road pipe and tune and was able to run 11.80s. He slaughtered me on the first run because I missed 3rd gear, but he was definitely faster than me even without missing any gears. He was on drag radials though and I was on the stock Pirellis. It was my only my 2nd time drag racing (first was at Camaro5 Fest 3) and I definitely need some help launching my car. I'd be interested in letting a more experienced driver run my car just to see what it's capable of.

I will come out and meet with you if you would like. I like that track. I like cooler evenings, so October is a good start time, but can be earlier if you would like.

I think the only date for Street Wars at VMP in October is the 12th and I have to work that Friday. They have one on September 28th though that I'll probably go to assuming my car is still in one piece at that point.

There is also a Friday night test and tune at Richmond Dragway on October 5th. I've never been there before so I'm not sure about how that track is.

If you all decide to go let me know, I want to run mine in cooler weather too.

Is a quarter mile or eighth of a mile?

I'll probably go this Friday the 24th for street wars. They have a points class, but I just do test and tune.

Since Richmond Dragway is not doing their street night, I might make the trip down to VA Motorsports Park if some other Camaro's are going to be there.
