will the vararam work on my car?
I don't have the mail slot hood I have jusy the standard closed hood. Im curious if the vararam will still work. It looks like it just works through the grill?

I don't really know where it's pulling the air from either but they make em for the v6 as well as v8 Camaros so it shouldn't be a problem. just be sure to get the one for the v6. I've really been wanting one, just haven't pulled the trigger on ordering. if you get it let us know what you think.

Yes it will work, you don't need the mailslot for it. It works by getting the air coming in from the grille. It's an amazing intake. Coming from a traditional elbow intake (airaid) to the vararam was a huge difference. If anything, the sound of the vararam will put a huge smile on your face

There is a plastic air deflector that installs after the grill and before the radiator that encourages the air to flow over the deflector and into the open element intake which is mounted to receive air from that path.

I have the K&N now so I don't know if this will be better or not the idea of the air ram is cool and I like it.

I had an AirRaid and went to the Vararam. The change in sound alone was enough to warrant the cost of changing. The performance on the road was definitely better. I won't say it was better off the line, but once your moving it was definitely better.

The only thing I'd consider switching to that I feel I'd get roughly the same performance is something like the CAI intake and also the scoop addition. But that's pretty costly compared to the VR.
Oh, and the Injen has always been a good pick as well. I'd just recommend putting the "sock" on it if you drive in rain much and definitely stay away from big puddles.

I had the Vararam for almost a year and then switched to the CAI and I couldn't be happier. Better design, better looking, better sound, and same performance.
