California's Drought vs Car Washes
The latest snow pack numbers caused my city to increase water restrictions even lower than before. So, I have been using the neighborhood coin car wash. Frankly, my car is clean and has a basic shine and that is it. Other than a two bucket wash, no paint repair can be done. My porter cable sits in a cabinet like an ornament. My lawn and flower beds are barely hanging on. I'm not complaining though because the farmers need the water more than I need to detail my car.

I have been using waterless wash for light dirt levels and rinseless wash for dirtier levels.

I wish it would freaking stop raining here. Day after day of it. Grass is growing faster than we can keep it mowed. Big puddles in the back yard. Work crew doing some expansions on the house can't continue until it lets up. I wish we could send this rain your direction.

As far as Rinseless washes go, Optimum No Rinse is the bar. Don't know if you your allowed to have even a 5 gallon bucket of water based on your restrictions, but it works great. I use it during the colder months or for when I do not feel like doing an all in wash.

Trying to avoid fines for over use. I have purchased five gallons of distilled to tote to the coin car wash for my bucket wash. Optimum sounds as though it will save my paint. Thanks again

Cool be sure to check out the waterless wash as well. It works great also.
Also be sure to use top quality microfibers with either product and check out videos on the right way to use them. Your paint will appreciate it. Here is some info for you. http://www.autogeek.net/how-to-use-waterless-wash.html http://www.autogeek.net/how-to-use-rinseless-wash.html My product preference is Ultima waterless for light dirt and Optima no rinse for heavier. If your car has been rained on or has been wet from morning dew the dirt is now bonded and you should use the 2 bucket for that. |
