There is a point to be had here. Recent Corvettes have made leaps and bounds over previous model years, but the Corvette has always had a relatively featureless interior. From my perspective, the Corvette has been trapped between the ideal of affordable performance and the goal of competing with world class exotics in style and performance.

The 370Z has a lot of the traditional Nissan shape and style with the equally traditional Nissan size. It's good to see Nissan using tradition to guide its cars rather than what other Eastern companies have done by scrapping good cars for economy cars.

I'd like the 370Z a lot more if it had the GTR motor, even if it was a downrated version of it.

Try the same thing with this pair's predecessors of 1970 or so and you'll find yourself in a bit of a wrestling match. Ain't progress wonderful? Maybe yes, and maybe sometimes it's fun to wrestle."

Thats no coincidence.

It was designed to mimic Porsche in every way.

You can't compare the two cars on anything other than price. The Z is a 2 seater V6 hatchback. The Camaro is a V8 sport coupe with a usable trunk and a back seat. I could care less about the Z, it's ugly, small and slow. I prefer the interior of the Camaro as well.

I agree they are two totally different types of vehicles IMO

I respect Nissan for sticking to their roots, like you said, but I have to say I wouldn't drive a Z. I just personally prefer the Camaro, and I'm a pretty big guy, and every time I've sat in one I just couldn't get comfortable. Same reason I DESPISE my father's '06 Tiburon. Well, that and I'm pretty sure the seats are made of recycled vinyl tiles, it has more torque steer than torque, and my 4th gen handles better in the snow if I set the revs at 4k and dump the freakin' clutch.

But back to why I find the Z uncomfortable: It's small, and the steering wheel seems to far back. I pretty much have to eat my kneecaps in order to reach it.

And I know people make fun of American car interiors, but personally I like them. I like very simple interiors. Turn this knob to turn on the heat, turn this one to turn up the stereo, not "Well, press this button to activate the heat, then set the ideal temperature you'd like the cabin to be in each zone, the source of the air, what percentage of the heat should come from which vents, and the target output capacity of the flux capacitor."

That's funny in a prior post you agreed with a fellow forum member that a GT500 (4 seater with a trunk)should be compared to a Corvette(2 seater sports car).
But now you say a Camaro(4 seater with a trunk) should not be compared to a 370Z (2 seaters sports car)??
What's the logic behind that???

The 370Z looks pretty cool, like a cross between a 911 and a old 240Z.
