How many would be interested in this billet aluminum frame?

I sent an email to a local guy about getting these made. I hope to hear something back soon and was thinking brushed, polished and black based on the polls from the other C5 license plate frame threads.

Last I checked, these had to be licensed...which is why we have no vendor who is willing to buy the $200,000 insurance policy and pay royalties to GM. If they agree to licensing them, that'd be awesome.

In fact, I do need to get in touch with EMI. I'll go back and see what the news is on these. If we don't have to get them licensed...and I might be able to twist some arms here...we already have a company who can make them.

Check billett frames.com, which is where I got mine, For about $32.00 they will make you one to your order and the workmanship and quick turnaround are first rate.....

yeah, I believe anything over $40 will be too much for everyone.

Bottom frame would need to be thin so county & tax tags would show or it is illegal in TN. but Camaro5 on top would be cool.

Doing a personalized one at a time is not against licensing. Doing multiples with personalized for Camaro5 and it's store won't happen. GM is too nit picky and wants HUGE $$$ to cover insurance and a whole bunch of other crap. What can we say...

Just get with billetframes and they will get ya hooked up should you want a personalized frame.

Why is GM so picky? Don't they realize sites like this are what makes the car so popular? I don't pay attention to what they say about there cars I only care what people in this site say because the info is more accurate.

Nice frame but it seems a little to busy on the lower edge.

This is the update.

We can not mass produce frames at a discount. We tried it. For one, there are too many variations of plates. Some states have laws that require them be of a certain size. Some folks want them painted in a certain color..finished in a certain style...words saying one thing vs someone else's saying another.

All in all, there's too many choices for one thing. For two, GM won't let us since they want an astronomical 2m insurance deal so they don't get sued if something happens with a frame....AND they want royalties.

So, as it's been said a few times, just go over to billet frames and have one made to your liking. Thanks!

Honestly I dont see myself or many spending $50 on a license plate frame seems a little steep. I dont doubt that the quality cant be match but that is really high for a license plate frame.
